reThink reDesign reCycle:
This proposed recycling receptacle for the City of Chicago takes design cues from the city’s distinct skyline and offers functional advantages from both user and manufacturing perspectives. Recyclables are sorted for removal automatically due to inner compartments. The exterior form is stamped from one piece of recycled, galvanized steel making the resultant form both elegant and cost effective.

A prototype was sponsored by the reThink reDesign reCycle competition and displayed in Daley Plaza, downtown Chicago in August 2005.

Designed by Donna Piacenza and Linda Pulik.
